Nearly 70 fathers attended "Breakfast with Dads" Friday in a turnout that exceeded expectations.
"We were packed," said Ms. Gayle Voltz, director of The Varnett School East. "I'm glad they came out."
The event is one of several The Varnett Public School promotes to encourage family bonding. But there's another reason: "We're not able to commemorate Father's Day when school is out (in June)," Ms. Voltz said. "So we chose this time to honor dads."
