Title I is a federally funded grant program that provides schools with additional academic support and learning opportunities for students at schools with higher percentages of socioeconomically disadvantaged children.
To ensure that all children have a fair, equal and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments (The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, STAAR).
The goals of Title I are to increase academic achievement, provide direct instructional support to students, provide professional development for staff and teachers and to promote and increase parent education and involvement.
