Pre-K4 promotion ceremony at East Campus

Our Pre-K4 theme for the promotion ceremony was “A Walk to Remember." There was the red carpet walk like you see at the Academy Awards. Our students were the STARS for the day as they walked across the stage to receive their certificate from Varnett's superintendent, Dr. Margaret Stroud. The Pre-K staff also presented students with miniature-like golden Oscars for a well-performing educational year.

The 69 students showed their talents by performing dances and songs. The presentations represented the year starting off as a “Bad Day”, “The Best Year of My Life” to “What I Am” and “Don’t Give Up as You Move to the Next Step," which is kindergarten for these students.

The parents and staff were so proud of the accomplishments of the Pre-K students. Dr. Stroud encouraged the parents to continue the trend of learning by ensuring their children participate in the Scholastic summer reading program. Each child received books from the Varnett Public School.

The parents were excited about the reading project because it will involve their participation as well. I want to thank the parents for being respectful to all students who were on stage during the promotion ceremony.

This was a great year for the Pre-kinder program.

Ms. Gayle Voltz, East Campus director
