Students from PreK through 5th grade made ornaments and took pictures with Santa Claus as part of a fundraising effort for the East Campus PTO. The funds collected in Santa's workshop will go toward the purchase of a laminator for school projects, said Campus Director Gayle Voltz.
The workshop was a test of the students’ imagination as they used a variety of materials to make ornaments, which later were placed in bags along with Christmas pencils. The ornaments included Christmas wreaths, miniature snowmen and polar bears and light bulbs, all embellished with ribbons, buttons, cutouts and glitter.
The participation fee also came with permission to “dress down” and to have a one-on-one picture-taking session with Santa.
“Santa came all the way from the North Pole to participate in Santa’s workshop,” Ms. Voltz said.
Last year, the school raised money for a projector.
