Open House/Family Night a success

East Campus had 143 parents attend Open House/Family Night Wednesday evening. The parents and students visited their teachers’ classrooms, where they demonstrated how the Promethean Board works and discussed class trips. Many parents showed their support by signing up to volunteer as chaperones for the trips.

The teachers reviewed their class rules, class work and homework requirements. The East Campus families feasted on “Varnett Dogs,” along with chips and drinks. Everyone had fun playing games in the multipurpose room. The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) had new members sign up and teachers handed them Box Top Fundraiser sheets.

Parents also received gift bags from the PTO. The entire 90-minute event was well-organized and showed how important parent participation is to our Varnett families. We welcomed and were pleased to see Dr. M. Annette Cluff, Varnett’s superintendent, as she talked to parents and visited our classrooms.

Thank you all for coming to our campus and showing support for your children.
