Students create art gallery in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

East Campus students spent the week creating their vision of their MLK Jr. Art Gallery. Each grade used its creative juices to pay tribute to a great civil rights leader.

His quote: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character" was the vision for our gallery, with wall displays throughout the campus.

In our foyer, we have three pictures. The first is of  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which depicts his dream. Because of his dream, the second picture is of our superintendent, Mrs. Annette Cluff.  Mrs. Cluff saw her dream -- to educate all, regardless of race, creed or color -- come true.

Throughout our gallery, the students drew or wrote about their dreams. Wow! I cannot wait to see all of our student’s dreams come true. It is all because of the first dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
