Apart We Stand Together

Dear Varnett Parents,

Though we are apart right now for our health and safety, we at The Varnett Public School will continue to support each other as a community.  Right now we must work together to fight COVID-19.

In order to help prevent the spread of the virus, Varnett will be reaching out to you via email, phone, text message and social media to share vitally important guidance. This guidance is based on what scientists know about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is our hope that you will continue to do all you can to follow these practices and share them with your family and friends.

Thank you for what you are doing to assist in the education of your children at home and all the efforts you are making to keep your family healthy and safe. We know this is a difficult time.

If we stand apart as a community during this stretch and continue to follow the public health practices over the coming days, we will be back together soon. Please head to http://tea.texas.gov/staywell for vitally important public health guidance to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Please remember that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has extended the closure of all Texas schools through May 4, 2020 in an effort to prevent the future spread of COVID-19. We will update you on further developments at varnett.org, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

In the meantime, stay safe!

Dr. Margaret Stroud
