East campus held a Christmas tree decoration contest and the winners were announced after judges made their rounds Thursday.
The categories or groupings were PreK and kindergarten; first grade; second grade; third grade; fourth grade, and fifth- and sixth-grades combined.
The judging was based on visual impact (best overall), craftsmanship, completeness, originality (most creative), and nature theme (fun, eye-catching, communicates nature). Each category carried a maximum of four points, with a collective high of 20 points. The theme was Disney movies.
The judges were Ms. Jacqueline Ruiz, East campus clerk; Mr. Eduardo Lopez, district director of the English as Second Language program and Mr. Peter McConnell, the district's director of communications.
