ESL classroom a key learning space at East

At East campus, the English as a Second Language (ESL) department follows the state guidelines for the pull-out method. This method allows students in the program to receive more individualized attention in small groups and one on one settings.

The ESL team arranges the groups according to language proficiency levels to provide the appropriate amount of rigor in each lesson. The team also provides intensive instruction on everyday vocabulary and phonics to newcomers, while the more advanced students work on grade-level appropriate strategies and skills.

Here are the benefits of ESL

Furthermore, our team provides more intensive, individualized attention with a language focus that supports and aligns with the state curriculum. The communication of the classroom teacher and our team is a key element for students to excel in all subjects.

As the saying goes: “In the ESL class mistakes are expected, respected, inspected and corrected.”

We are very proud of our ESL students. Our pledge in serving them is our responsibility since our success depends upon theirs.
