Cheerleaders from The Varnett Public School’s East, Northeast, and Southwest campuses proudly represented the district in the Texas Southern University Homecoming Parade on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

With colorful pom-poms, campus banners, and plenty of school spirit, our cheerleaders came together to celebrate a special day in the Houston community. Each team brought its own campus pride while sharing one message: Varnett students shine together!

Participation in the parade offered students an opportunity to represent their schools beyond the classroom and take part in a university homecoming celebration. It was a chance to celebrate teamwork, build confidence, and strengthen connections between our schools and the broader community.

The accompanying photo captures that unity, with cheerleaders from all three campuses gathered proudly behind their team banners. Together, they reflect the energy and enthusiasm at the heart of this year’s district theme, “Be the Change.”

Thank you to our cheerleaders and the coaches, staff, and families who support them. We are proud to celebrate our East, Northeast, and Southwest teams for bringing Varnett spirit to this community event!
