East pre-k students called "superheroes" during ceremony

East Campus honored 41 pre-k students dubbed as "superheroes" during their promotion ceremony Thursday.

The students appeared proudly before their loved ones, singing "The World is a Rainbow," "What a Wonderful World," and "Usher's ABC Song." A quote in the program read, "I believe everyone has a Superhero inside them waiting to be discovered."

Dr. Margaret Stroud, superintendent of The Varnett Public School, handed out diplomas on stage in the multi-purpose room as Ms. Gayle Voltz, the campus director, looked on.

It was a proud moment for the parents and guardians who attended.

The ceremony featured a slideshow of pre-k memories and kindergartners singing "Can't Stop the Kinder."

Dr. Stroud thanked the parents for allowing Varnett to be at the ground floor of their children's education.

Congratulations to the students and we'll see you next year as high-achieving kindergartners!
