Games, activities fuel Math Night fun

East Campus encouraged students to wear Houston Texans shirts or colors for Math Night recently. But instead of watching a scoreboard, the students had fun with their own numbers.

Eighty-one parents joined in on Nov. 16 for an hour of after-school activity to practice math in a variety of ways. They played games involving numbers and even used bowling as a tool. In bowling, families and teachers developed math problems based on the number of pins the students knocked down.

“This was a fun way to get the parents and students involved in activities that encouraged academic growth and excellence,” said Ms. Voltz, the campus director.

The games illustrate how math factors into many aspects of our lives, while helping students master the subject.

As for the Texans theme, Ms. Voltz said,  “We have a lot of Texans fans and they were more than happy to participated while proudly wearing their Texans gear.”

Thanks to all who participate and we hope you have a fun and wonderful experience.
