East Campus Director Gayle Voltz praised her troops during Staff Appreciation Day that was attended by 35 people teachers, aides and others.
The three-hour event featured a DJ, dancing, food and drink and door prizes such as TV/DVRs, a netbook computer, headphones, and an on-line picture frame.
The staff also honored teacher of the year Marie Rojo (kindergarten) and
employee of the year Leidy Martinez (instructional aide).
Mrs. Voltz handed out special trinkets as a way to thank the staff "for having a great year and working as a team." The gifts included a key chain and a combo set that included a calendar, Post-its and a highlighter.
The MCs were Ms. Jameson and Ms. Wyatt, whom Mrs. Voltz said "did a fantastic job."
The director reflected on the past year's events "and concluded that this was a very productive year and rewarding experience."
She added that "the key to our success was working as a team and family unit. The children were our No. 1 priority in creating educational success in testing and showing growth from fall to spring."
